Fone’s vision is to see God use her to evangelize and disciple students at Khon Kaen University and to see those students make an impact for Christ in the country of Thailand. 

Me and Kara's family

On August 8-29, I got a great opportunity to visit the States with Kara Lockhart. This trip was so awesome; I had a great time there. Most of my time there; I was being with Kara’s family. Being with her family was such a great thing that happened in my life. Their love for the Lord and each others are so evident. I got to spend sometime with the Richardson family and Melody Young who provided my surprise birthday party and invited all my friends to come. And I also met with some of my supporters, friends and new people. I’ve not seen some of them for at least 5 years. Some of them had to drive for many hours to meet me. It’s such a big blessing from God to me. I’m so thankful for everything He has done for me especially in those 3 weeks. I’ve never expected this before but God is so sweet to me; He gave me more than I can ask for or imagine. 

Women Get Away Retreat

On October 2-5, 2006.  We had Women get away retreat in Bangkok. I had a great time there with all the staff ladies and the wives.  I was in the same room with Melody Hunt; and it was such an encouraging time to talk and learn from her. This trip really made me get closer to some of the wives; such as Melody and Watt. Since that retreat, I still spend sometime with their family. It is great to be around with the Christian family and watch what they are teaching their children in God’s way.

On October 13-15, 2006.  I and Kara took a trip to Beam’s house in Bureerum with 2 non Christian girls; Oh and Kung. It was so much fun to spend time with these 2 girls whom we know for a semester. We would like to encourage Beam by spending time with her family too. Her mom is so nice; she took care of us all the time and she took us to the famous places in Bureerum. Beam said she wants to go back and work with her mom at the stationary shop after she graduate. So she has only 1 year left in college, please pray for her that she will use it as much as she can to seek God and get some training before she will be out of college. And please pray for Oh and Kung too, we have not talked much about God with them but just show them love. One of the places we went is the big Buddha image and they wanted to get to know their fortune by asking that Buddha image. Seeing them worship that image and also pray at night before they go to bed, remind me that I used to do the same thing they do before I know Christ. It reminds me from the 2 Corinthians 4:4, I believe that only God can change them from worshiping those idols even though how long they have been doing it so they can worship the real God one day.

On February 10-12, 2007, my friend- Kelly Harris from Summer Beach Project 2001 came to visit me.  When I left at the end of that summer, I really thought we would not see each other again.  She is working with ELIC in China and they had their Annual Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a week.  So after she finished her conference, she came to visit me.  We had great time together and she also got to know the family of Christ here in Khon Kaen.  It was such a blessing to see each other again and share what God has done in our lives.

Snow, Alyson, Fone and Holly

On June-July 2007: 15 CCP students from Birmingham labored with us in this past 2 months. They came to love and serve the Thai students alongside of us. It was such a big blessing to have brothers and sisters from the other side of the world to come serve the Lord together. 

As the new semester started, I would like to keep focusing on Science major. Rung and Kara are focusing on Humanity major. Before the semester started, we walked and prayed for the students in these majors at their places for 7 days like the Israelites marched around the Jericho. And now we are seeing the fruits from our prayers. I had a team to labor with me in this past summer; Alyson Snow, Holly Jinks (CCP 2007) and Snow (the girl from G4 group) who is working full time at Science Faculty. I’m so thankful to have them as a team, it was such a blessing from God.
